Experience at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Share from patient Nguyễn Thị Xuân Nhi - currently undergoing treatment at the Department of Anorectal

One day at the end of May, there was a small matter that required hospitalization. From the moment of preparation to go, the mind stayed calm, still preparing while being able to sing hymns,... I met patients also going for check‑ups, each carrying a worry,...

There is a sister from Đồng Tháp who went with her husband, over 30 years old, childless, carrying serious illnesses. The hospital has been like home for more than a year now, she comes here every month. Yet that couple keeps persisting like that. The husband runs back and forth because he has to handle examination paperwork across three departments, but he remains calm and patiently supports his wife.

Dear nurses, the supporting staff who have devoted all their heart and strength so that everything runs at maximum capacity. They are always moving as if running. Seeing the continuous work speed of you all makes me feel overwhelmed, but when needed you still have enough patience to pause, gently and thoughtfully guide patients (including those hot‑tempered, grumbling patients who have to wait a long time),... That's the point I need to reflect on myself to learn from them.

Entering the operating room, everyone is guided kindly, devotedly and responsibly. Every action on the patient is announced in advance even small details such as: “This injection is a bit painful”, “Please try a bit, the spray feels a bit cold on the back”,.... I was moved before being cared for like that, some of you ask why I cried, or why I was so anxious,… Honestly I cried because of gratitude, sending back to this place, where I truly felt genuine love.

Morning after surgery, the body feels better, sitting to write these lines to send to all staff of the Hospital, the doctors as well as the security personnel, laborers,... All have created a Hospital that works professionally, thoughtfully, responsibly so that patients are truly safe when they need it most. Sending a heart here.
