71st Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (27/2/1955 – 27/2/2026)

On 25/02/2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (UMC – Hospital of University of Medicine and Pharmacy) solemnly organized the 71st anniversary celebration of Vietnamese Doctors' Day with the theme “Intelligence, Dedication, White Blouse for the people's health”. This year's theme reflects the development direction of the University and the Hospital in the new phase, focusing on intensifying the application of science and technology, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, innovating training and management work, while also promoting medical ethics, a sense of responsibility, and professional competence of the medical staff.

Building a Workforce Ready for the New BANI World

In the context of a constantly updating and changing world, the healthcare sector faces major challenges in governance models, technology, and human resource development. To guide the strategic direction of building a workforce that adapts to the “new world”, the University Medical and Pharmacy Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD) organized the workshop “Internal training to build a workforce ready for the new BANI world” on the morning of 07/11/2025 at Hall 3A, attracting more than 500 managers, officials and employees from many major hospitals across the country.

“Around the recent New Year, my younger sister had to fly from Hanoi back to Ho Chi Minh City so that my colleague – Associate Professor Dr. Hứa Thị Ngọc Hà – Department of Pathology, Breast Clinic, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City – could take her for tests and a cell aspiration due to suspicion of a malignant tumor. Previously I also had tests that showed benign diagnosis, so I was mainly worried about my sister. When she finished, my colleague said I could go ahead and have it done since I was already here anyway.”
