University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC HCMC) is a Grade I public hospital, a specialized tertiary referral center under the management of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City. Operating under the university-hospital model, UMC HCMC closely integrates clinical treatment, medical education, and scientific research.
The hospital was founded based on the dedication of generations of teachers from the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City. The predecessor of the hospital was the General Clinic with Inpatient Beds established in 1994. In response to the increasing demand for medical care, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City was officially founded in 2000, becoming the first "School-Hospital" model in the country.
