Hospital History

From the dream of teachers at University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City to have a practical hospital where they can both teach and provide medical treatment for the people, like many modern medical university models in the world, the Board of Directors, especially Prof. Dr. Truong Cong Trung and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoi, with vision and determination, joined with teachers of the School to build the first clinical training model in Vietnam.

10/04/1994

The General Clinic of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, with official inpatient beds, is now operational.

20/01/2001

The establishment of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, marked the beginning of the first School-Hospital model in Vietnam. With financial autonomy from its inception, the hospital has confidently operated with creativity and dynamism, accumulating experience to design and build a modern hospital meeting international standards.

12/04/2006

The hospital broke ground for its expansion.

2013

The hospital has inaugurated a 17-story building, increasing its capacity to serve patients.

30/12/2024

On December 30, 2024, at the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the 30th anniversary celebration and had the honor of receiving the prestigious title of Labor Hero, awarded by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
