Continuous Medical Knowledge Update Week 2025 at University Medical and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Spreading knowledge - Toward the community
From August 16 to 24/8/2025, the University Medical and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD) will hold the 2025 continuous medical knowledge update week with the goal of spreading knowledge - toward the community, both in-person at the Hospital and online via Zoom. The scientific program includes 43 topics with more than 250 scientific reports, attracting over 11,500 healthcare workers nationwide who register to attend in person at the Hospital and online via Zoom.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac – Director of BV ĐHYD emphasized: “The continuous medical knowledge update week has become an annual key scientific activity of the Hospital, not only a forum for domestic and international healthcare teams to exchange expertise but also an opportunity to disseminate knowledge, develop standardized treatment protocols, and serve the common good of the community. In the context of a rapidly evolving healthcare sector, continuous training is an inevitable path to improve patient care quality. BV ĐHYD is committed to continuously supporting healthcare teams nationwide in updating knowledge, accessing new technologies, and developing professional competence.”

The program content for 2025 focuses on the major challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector: cardiology and cardiac surgery emphasize minimally invasive techniques, complication prevention, and quality of life optimization; oncology and gastroenterology prioritize screening, early diagnosis, and the application of modern endoscopy; surgery stands out with exemplar operative cases, providing practical learning opportunities for young physicians. Notably, future medical trends are showcased through discussion sessions on artificial intelligence and digital transformation, focusing on technology applications in diagnosis, chronic disease management, and building intelligent healthcare systems. Additionally, specialties such as endocrinology, urology, neurology, and pediatrics also contribute extensive research and practical experience. The reports not only stop at new treatment techniques but also expand to prevention, community health management, and improving patients' quality of life.
Prominent among the conference topics is the "Patient Safety Strategy Toward Zero Harm" which made an impact with the participation of over 2,000 experts and healthcare staff attending in person and online via the Zoom platform from 1,072 registrants. This topic emphasizes minimizing medical errors, establishing standardized treatment protocols, and fostering a safety culture throughout all medical examination and treatment activities.
