The highlight of the program was the segment where healthcare staff signed a commitment to act for patient safety, sharing improvement initiatives that contribute to enhancing hospital quality and patient safety on the Kaizen board, and awarding posters, videos, brochures, and applications that were honored for their creativity, applicability, and high practical value in community health education communication. Many award-winning products will continue to be implemented at the Hospital and on digital platforms, helping to bring official medical knowledge closer to the public.

Opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac – Director of Da Nang Hospital shared: “Patients all want effective, safe treatment and rapid recovery. At Da Nang Hospital, we consider patient safety as the top priority in all treatment, research, training, and management activities. The quality management system and safety indicators are closely monitored, the ‘no-blame, learning together’ culture is spread so that each medical staff acts for patient safety. In response to the World Patient Safety Day activity series, the AI Application Contest in designing health education communication products has shown the creativity and innovation spirit of the units in the Hospital. AI application products not only help disseminate official medical knowledge to the community, but also affirm the role of technology in supporting care and improving the quality of medical services. Building a patient safety culture is the responsibility of all staff – workers, as well as requiring the companionship of patients, families, and the whole society. This is precisely the foundation for Da Nang Hospital to develop professionally, sustainably, and humanely.”

Since 2019, September 17 each year has been selected by WHO as World Patient Safety Day to raise awareness and call for global action. Each year, the event has its own theme. In 2025, the chosen theme is "Safe care for all newborns and young children". This is an urgent call to eliminate preventable harms in pediatric and newborn care, building on the achievements of previous WHO campaigns on safe delivery, medication safety, health worker safety, diagnostic safety, and patient involvement, while affirming the right to safe, quality care for all children from the earliest days of life. At BV ĐHYD, these orientations have been concretized through many practical solutions: essential care immediately after birth, implementing skin-to-skin contact to support temperature regulation and mother‑child bonding, guiding exclusive breastfeeding, accurately identifying patients, transporting children in specialized incubators, and ensuring complete immunization. These are specific actions aimed at minimizing risks and improving the quality of care from the earliest days of life.

During the program, staff – employees of ĐHYD Hospital attended the online ceremony organized by the Ministry of Health, WHO in cooperation with the Central Pediatric Hospital, in support of World Patient Safety Day, providing recommendations on patient safety for the specialties of Obstetrics, Pediatrics, short plays, video clips about patient safety... Through this event, the Ministry of Health and health units nationwide affirm their determination to build a safe medical examination and treatment environment, putting patients – especially children – at the center, for a healthy and sustainable future for the community.
