Honoring the beauty of UMC
On the morning of October 20, 2025, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) organized a meeting program to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20. This is a special occasion to express gratitude and honor the important contributions of female staff and workers in the journey of building and developing the Hospital.
Speaking at the program, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh - Deputy Director of the University Hospital, sent congratulations and expressed respect to all female staff and workers: “Every day working at the Hospital, I clearly feel the steadfast dedication of the women from professional to administrative roles. It is this gentle yet resilient quality that creates the unique identity of UMC. Female personnel make up nearly two-thirds of the total staff, serving as an important foundation that enables the Hospital to develop as it is today.”

At the same time, MSc. Dang Anh Long - Chairman of the UMC Department Union, shared pride in the “silent warriors”: “Women always carry a special calling, both handling professional work and nurturing the family. It is the dedication, perseverance and responsibility of the women that have played an important role in building the Hospital’s reputation and value. I hope today’s wishes will be a source of encouragement for the women to continue spreading that spirit.”

Speaking at the program, Associate Professor Dr. Võ Tấn Sơn – former President of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, former Director of the Hospital, was moved as he looked back on the journey of building the University Hospital of Medicine and Pharmacy from the early difficult days. “From the first bricks, the women have together nurtured, contributing not only physical effort but also
passion to form the departments, wards, and units. Many tasks were done silently, but it is precisely those that have helped the Hospital develop steadily to this day. I sincerely thank the generations of women who have accompanied the Hospital.”

Sharing during the discussion, Professor Dr. Trương Quang Bình – Chairman of the Hospital’s Scientific Council, offered a special perspective on the beauty of women in medicine. He emphasized that beauty is not only in appearance but also emanates from grace, delicacy, intelligence, and conduct in work as well as life: “Beauty may make a first impression on others, but it is grace that fosters lasting connection. In the medical environment, that grace brings warmth and closeness to colleagues and patients. I hope every UMC woman will continue to nurture and spread that grace as a unique part of her identity.”

The sharing session with female staff and worker representatives brought a warm, friendly atmosphere, and everyone was moved by the concern of the Hospital Leadership Board. The ceremony's atmosphere became even more radiant when UMC's beautiful features wore traditional ao dai, preserving beautiful moments at the decorated area on the 4th floor, area A. UMC respectfully sends to all female staff and workers wishes of health, happiness and always resilience in life as well as in their careers.
