The Trade Union of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Ho Chi Minh City organizes a contest to learn about elections, spreading the spirit of civic responsibility

In response to the Election Day for National Assembly delegates of the 16th term and People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026‑2031 term, recently, the Trade Union of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD) organized a mobilization for union members to participate in an online contest to learn about the election laws of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for staff and workers of the entire Hospital.

This is a practical activity aimed at disseminating and popularizing legal knowledge about elections, contributing to raising political awareness, civic responsibility, and the consciousness of participating in collective activities among staff and workers. At the same time, it is also an occasion to spread a spirit of seriousness, responsibility, and look forward to the great celebration for the whole nation.

Sharing the significance of this activity, Associate Professor Đặng Anh Long - Chairman of the Hospital Department Union said: “The election awareness contest is a practical activity, contributing to helping officials and workers better understand citizens' rights and duties, while raising awareness and a sense of responsibility in participating in political and social activities. Through the contest, the Hospital Union hopes to continue spreading the spirit of complying with the law, a sense of responsibility and the concern of officials and workers towards the important events of the country.”

The contest received a positive response from union organizations with a total of 2.541/3.255 officials and workers participating, achieving a rate of 78,06%. Many units have a very high participation rate, among which many unions achieved 100% of officials and workers completing the competition entries, demonstrating concern and a sense of responsibility towards this politically significant activity.

To ensure suitability for the scale of each unit, the 40 union groups throughout the Hospital were divided into 3 competition categories, including Category A for union groups with fewer than 50 members, Category B for union groups with 51 to 99 members, and Category C for union groups with 100 or more members.

Based on the aggregated results, the Organizing Committee considered awarding prizes for each category. In Category A, the First Prize went to the Health Examination Department on Demand, the Second Prize to the Nephrology - Artificial Kidney Department, and the Third Prize to the Endocrinology Department. In Category B, the First Prize went to the Finance and Accounting Office, the Second Prize to the Infection Control Department, and the Third Prize to the Rehabilitation Department. In Category C, the First Prize went to the General Medicine and Ophthalmology Department, the Second Prize to the Pharmacy Department, and the Third Prize to the Laboratory - Pathology - Maxillofacial Surgery - Microbiology Department.

Through the competition, the Trade Union of the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City continues to contribute to spreading the spirit of responsibility, the awareness of complying with the law, and a correct understanding of citizens' rights and duties among staff and workers, aiming towards the election day of the 16th term National Assembly representatives and representatives of the People's Council at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
