University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Bang International University Hospital Sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation
On the afternoon of July 30, 2026, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) and Hong Bang International University Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation at Hong Bang International University Hospital. The event marked a new milestone in the relationship between the two institutions, with a focus on strengthening collaboration in professional expertise, training, scientific research, hospital management, and digital transformation.
Attending the signing ceremony, representatives from UMC included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac – Director of the Hospital; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh – Deputy Director of the Hospital; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Anh – Deputy Director of the Hospital; along with leaders of departments, centers, clinical departments, and other units. Representing Hong Bang International University Hospital were Prof. Dr. Pham Van Linh, Specialist Level II – President of Hong Bang International University and Director of Hong Bang International University Hospital; the Hospital’s Deputy Directors of Medical Affairs; and leaders of its departments and units. The ceremony was also attended by members of the Board of Management and representatives of various units of Hong Bang International University.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two hospitals agreed to collaborate in developing a system of specialist clinics, providing professional support, and transferring advanced techniques in interventional cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, urologic surgery, pathology, endoscopy, and diagnostic imaging. The two institutions will also coordinate the development of key specialties, strengthen appropriate patient referrals in accordance with treatment needs, organize continuing education programs, conduct scientific research, and implement domestic and international academic exchange programs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. He emphasized that knowledge only truly creates value when it is shared and disseminated, thereby contributing to improvements in the quality of medical examination and treatment, patient care, and the development of Vietnam’s healthcare sector.
According to Prof. Dr. Pham Van Linh, Specialist Level II – President of Hong Bang International University and Director of Hong Bang International University Hospital, the Hospital has recently commenced operations and has been equipped with modern facilities and medical equipment. During its initial stage of development, the institution is focusing on strengthening its workforce, enhancing professional capacity, and completing its organizational and operational systems. The cooperation with UMC is expected to provide an important foundation for Hong Bang International University Hospital to gradually develop in a stable manner, improve the quality of its operations, and better meet patients’ healthcare needs.
In the areas of hospital management and digital transformation, the two institutions will collaborate in organizing training programs on hospital operations, quality management, information technology applications, and the implementation of electronic medical records.
