University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City: Donating Blood for Humanity, Bringing Hope to Patients

On July 18, 2026, the Youth Union of University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC), in coordination with Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), Ho Chi Minh City Branch 5, organized a humanitarian blood donation program for July 2026. The program attracted 163 registered volunteers and collected a total of blood equivalent to 201 units of 250 ml, contributing to the blood supply for emergency care and patient treatment.

From reception, registration, and health screening to blood donation and post-donation care, the program was organized systematically to ensure safety. Healthcare staff, the Hospital's Youth Union members, and staff from VietinBank Branch 5 worked together to guide and support participants, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the activity.

Taking part in the blood donation, Ms. Trieu Kim Ngoc – Controller, VietinBank Branch 5, said that what left the strongest impression on her was the sense of reassurance throughout the entire process. "The smooth coordination between the two units helped the program run smoothly, safely, and effectively. Every participant felt a sense of care and appreciation, and gained further motivation to continue spreading this noble act," she shared.

Sustained over many years, the humanitarian blood donation activity has helped promote the pioneering, volunteer spirit of the Hospital's union members, staff, and workers, as well as the staff of VietinBank Branch 5. It is also an occasion for the two units to come together in a practical and deeply meaningful activity for community health.
