University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City signed a memorandum of understanding with key Chinese universities within the framework of the State-level forum on Vietnam - China higher education cooperation
Prof. Dr. Trần Diệp Tuấn, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a speech at Parallel Session 2: International Cooperation in High-Level Personnel Training and China-Vietnam Industrial Chain Linkage. Prof. Dr. Trần Diệp Tuấn emphasized that universities are not only places for training but also play a driving role in promoting research, technological development, and economic growth. In that context, the cooperative relationship between universities and enterprises is considered a key factor to promote innovation. Prof. Dr. Trần Diệp Tuấn affirmed that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and healthcare will bring practical benefits to both sides, contributing to elevating the quality of healthcare and human resource development.
On the same day, the working delegation of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City met, worked, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Zhejiang University, China, opening up numerous opportunities for high-quality academic and research cooperation.
Welcoming the delegation, on the side of the Health Science Center, Peking University, were Prof. Wang Jiadong, Vice President; Prof. Liu Yan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation; Prof. Wang Haijun, Associate Dean of the School of Public Health; Prof. Yan Jie, Associate Dean of the Graduate School; Prof. Deng Rui, Deputy Director of the Office of Scientific Research; Ms. Li Xiaojia, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation; and Ms. Bai Jing, Program Officer of the Office of International Cooperation.
During the working session, both sides focused on discussing potential fields such as the application of artificial intelligence in teaching, young talent exchange programs, and the implementation of joint research initiatives.
The leaders of both sides expressed high consensus in promoting the cooperative relationship toward a long-term, practical, and effective direction. The focus of cooperation will include training high-quality medical human resources, developing scientific research, and contributing to global health issues.
Participation in this Forum not only contributes to consolidating the educational cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China but also opens up many new opportunities for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in connecting with China's key national universities, aiming for sustainable development in the fields of training and healthcare to meet the increasingly high demands of society in the current context of globalization.
