Asian–Pacific Parkinson and Movement Disorders Conference: The imprint of BV ĐHYD Ho Chi Minh City

Recently, the team of doctors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (BV ĐHYD) attended the Asian–Pacific Parkinson and Movement Disorders Conference (AOPMC 2025) in Tokyo, Japan. This is a major event gathering over 800 neurologists from 33 countries, aimed at sharing research achievements and the latest treatment updates for Parkinson's disease and movement disorders.

BV ĐHYD proudly has 8 submissions, of which 4 were highly rated and received funding (Travel Grant)

Among the 465 scientific reports submitted to the conference, BV ĐHYD proudly had 8 entries, of which 4 were highly rated and received funding (Travel Grant), recognizing the outstanding contributions and research capabilities of the young doctors at the Hospital.

In particular, two reports by Associate Professor Dr. Võ Ngọc Chung Khang – Neurology Department received high appraisal from the international expert panel. The reports not only focus on deep expertise, but also reflect the spirit of "going to the utmost for patients", pursuing complex and rare diagnoses to the end.

Sharing after the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Võ Ngọc Chung Khang emphasized: "Cases that seem small, like an unsteady step, are actually the starting point for the journey of discovery and searching for the truly deep underlying pathological causes. As doctors, we must not miss any small sign from patients."

In addition, the research of Associate Professor Đặng Thị Huyền Thương – Neurology department on olfactory disorders in Parkinson's patients has also attracted much interest from colleagues. Dr. Thương shared “The Vietnamese odor test kit was created by a research team led by Professor Dr. Trần Ngọc Tài, with the hope that in the near future this odor test kit will be widely used to support the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in Vietnam”.
