Free surgical program for children with cleft lip and palate
From 23-29/7/2022, the University Medical and Pharmacy Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD TPHCM) in collaboration with Operation Smile Vietnam organized a free surgery program for children with cleft lip and palate. It is expected that in 2022 there will be 03 free surgery rounds, each round for 50 children, and the July program is the first to be relaunched after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the program, Dr. Pham Van Tan – Deputy Director of the Hospital said: “With the desire to bring many new smiles to children across the country, in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital has regularly collaborated with Operation Smile Vietnam to examine and perform free surgeries for many unfortunate children born with cleft lip and palate. This is an honor for the Hospital in particular and for organizations in general in joining hands to bring a bright future for the children. As one of the important medical partners of Operation Smile Vietnam, the Hospital will always accompany philanthropists on the journey to restore a complete smile for the little children.”
On this occasion, Operation Smile Vietnam expresses its gratitude to the main sponsor of the program, Mr. Đỗ Trọng Nhơn – the initiator and executor of the Run100 project idea, aimed at inspiring running and raising funds for Operation Smile. Mr. Nhơn completed his 100 km goal in 9 hours 02 seconds and raised funds for 67 smiles for the children.
