NGND GS TS BS. Nguyễn Đình Hối was honored and awarded the "Lifetime Achievement" award (Lifetime achievement award)

On the evening of 11/9/2025, at the closing ceremony of the 24th Asian Hospital Management Conference 2025 organized by the Vietnam Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Asian Hospital Management Association in Ho Chi Minh City, the organizers presented the "Lifetime Achievement" award (Lifetime Achievement Award) to NGND GS TS BS. Nguyễn Đình Hối, former Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the first Director of Ho Chi Minh City University Medical Hospital (BV ĐHYD), for his contributions to Vietnam's healthcare sector.

This is a prestigious award of the Conference, a recognition by the Vietnam Ministry of Health and the Asian Hospital Management Association especially for those who have made important contributions to healthcare in the Asian region. The award committee unanimously chose GS TS BS. Nguyễn Đình Hối according to the proposal of the Vietnam Ministry of Health.

After graduating from Hanoi Medical University in 1960, Professor Nguyễn Đình Hối taught at Hanoi Medical University and Viet Duc Hospital. From 1993 to 2007, Professor Nguyễn Đình Hối was appointed as the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Despite bearing the responsibilities of management, Professor Nguyễn Đình Hối maintained the spirit of an educator and physician. He is the chief editor of 10 textbook volumes, 5 specialized books; he led many research projects at the State and Ministry levels and published over 70 scientific works.

Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi is a pioneer who laid the foundation for the School‑Institute model in Vietnam, he especially focuses on human resource management, postgraduate training, deep specialized training, emphasizes medical ethics, thereby turning Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (BV ĐHYD) into a reputable medical centre integrating teaching – research – treatment, while also exerting a far‑reaching influence on the development of Vietnam’s medical sector.

Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi has many outstanding contributions in the Councils, professional societies. He has served as Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Health, Chairman of the Council of Deans of Medical and Pharmacy Universities, Chairman of the Council for Professor Titles in the field of Medicine in Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Endoscopic Surgery Association, Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Surgery Association, Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Digestive Science Association.

In his role leading professional societies, he has promoted many scientific research activities, organized conferences, exchanged experiences, and developed international cooperation, contributing to raising the standing of Vietnam’s medical sector.

The great contributions of Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi have been recognized with many prestigious awards: the People’s Teacher title in 1996, the Ton That Tung Award in 2004, the Innovative Science and Technology Award in 2006 for his significant contributions to the development of Vietnam’s medical field.

The 24th Asian Hospital Management Conference in 2025 attracted over 1,352 delegates from more than 30 countries (including 334 delegates from Vietnam), comprising speakers, managers, leaders of top hospitals in the region, and renowned global healthcare solution providers.
