University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Ho Chi Minh City wins first prize in the “Green - Clean - Beautiful Healthcare Facility” competition
After one year of implementation, the competition has spread widely throughout the healthcare sector, attracting participation from more than 2,000 medical facilities across 34 provinces and cities, with a strict, objective scoring system that includes on-site evaluation, video narration, innovative improvement initiatives, and especially over 350,000 real surveys from patients via QR-code. The award that the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital has received not only reflects green, clean, beautiful scenery but also serves as evidence of a modern, integrated healthcare operation model aimed at sustainable development.
Throughout its operations, ĐHYD Hospital always focuses on environmental factors, improves service quality and builds a hospital culture tied to the long‑term goal “Putting patients at the center”. The treatment spaces have been uniformly renovated, combining multi‑level green areas, natural light, mini‑scapes and open waiting lounges, creating a relaxing and close feeling. Public areas such as restrooms, cafeterias, interdisciplinary corridors are strictly controlled for hygiene, while integrating bulletin boards, mini libraries, health communication corners to enhance the experience and awareness of patients.
As a tertiary referral hospital with a high volume of medical examinations and treatments, ĐHYD Hospital has leveraged its technological advantage by synchronously applying a smart management system and the UMC Care digital platform, helping to reduce administrative procedures, optimize reception and treatment processes, while also contributing to effective coordination of space, internal hospital traffic, and the working environment. Infection control activities, waste segregation, medical waste management, and internal hospital communications are regularly and systematically implemented, with periodic internal checks and monitoring, creating a safe and proactive environment for risk control.
