Areola Reduction

  • Enlarged areolas may occur due to reduced skin elasticity, commonly after childbirth or weight loss.
  • Surgery removes excess skin to reduce the areola proportionately to the size of the breast and nipple, with symmetry between both sides.

Correction of Inverted Nipples

  • Inverted nipples are recessed deeply below the surface of the areola, which can affect breast appearance and may interfere with breastfeeding after childbirth.
  • Surgery releases the contracted tissue beneath the nipple and uses reconstructive suturing techniques to restore the nipple’s natural projection.
  • Breast reduction surgery is relatively complex and requires great care because it may affect the skin and glandular tissues, blood vessels, and nerves in and around the breast. Reduction mammoplasty for overly large breasts should be performed by a highly qualified plastic and aesthetic surgeon with refined surgical skills and extensive experience.
  • Three breast reduction techniques are used:
    • Periareolar incision
    • Periareolar incision combined with a vertical incision extending to the inframammary fold
    • Periareolar, vertical, and horizontal incisions, also known as the inverted-T or anchor-shaped incision

Reduction Mammoplasty for Large, Sagging Breasts

Having disproportionately large and heavy breasts can inevitably lead to breast ptosis, causing pain in the back and neck, as well as the shoulders and back, and limiting physical activity. Therefore, reduction mammoplasty is currently considered an effective surgical solution for overly large breasts.

2. What Are Sagging and Overly Large Breasts?

Overly large breasts have a volume greater than what is considered typical due to individual anatomical characteristics or genetic factors. Breast enlargement after childbirth may also become excessive, particularly when accompanied by breast ptosis, enlarged areolas, and enlarged nipples, causing women to feel physically weighed down and less confident and graceful.

The prolonged weight of heavy breasts may cause fatigue and pain in the back and neck.

3. What Is the Treatment for Sagging, Overly Large Breasts?

  • The primary treatment for overly large breasts is aesthetic surgery.
