Guide to Purchasing Medications at the UMC Pharmacy
To help patients and their families purchase medications conveniently, quickly, and safely, the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City Pharmacy provides the following medication purchasing guide:
1. Submit the Prescription and Make Payment
Patients may choose one of the following two options:
Option 1: Online payment via the UMC Care app
Patients can conveniently make payment in advance through the UMC Care app.
Option 2: Submit the prescription and pay directly at the Pharmacy
Patients may submit their prescription and make payment directly at the Pharmacy counter.
2. Receive Notification
After submitting the prescription and completing payment, please monitor the medication pickup information through one of the following channels:
- Notification via the UMC Care app or SMS.
- Information displayed on the screen in front of the Pharmacy.
3. Collect Medications at the Pharmacy Counter
Once you receive a notification, please proceed to the Pharmacy counter to collect your medications.
For payments made via the UMC Care app:
Please bring the original paper prescription and show the medication pickup notification on the app.
For payments made directly at the Pharmacy:
Please bring the printed medication sales receipt for verification.
4. Important Notes When Collecting Medications
Before leaving the counter, please carefully check the following information:
- Full name
- Year of birth
- Address
- Medication name
- Quantity
Checking this information helps ensure that patients receive the correct medications in the correct quantities and use them safely according to the instructions provided by healthcare professionals.
5. Payment via UMC Care – Greater Convenience
By using the UMC Care app for payment and medication pickup notifications, patients can benefit from several convenient features:
- Cashless payment: Fast and secure transactions.
- No queuing: Reduced waiting time.
- Timely notifications: Know exactly when your medications are ready for pickup.
- Easy access to records: Review and manage your medication purchase history directly on your phone.
Patients can download and register for the UMC Care app by scanning the QR code or downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play.
