“One message, a million heartfelt sentiments sent to cancer patients”

According to the World Health Organization, each year Vietnam has 100,000 - 150,000 new cases and about 75,000 deaths due to cancer, accounting for about 70% of the mortality rate among all patients. For each family, “cancer” occurs as a great tragedy in their lives because of its devastating impact... In reality, to seize life and fight the disease, nearly 67% of patients have to borrow money, 22% have to sell assets… Even after one year of diagnosis, 22.36% of patients face economic difficulties and many patients become exhausted after a short time (according to statistics from the three largest cancer treatment centers in the country: Bach Mai Hospital, Central Oncology Hospital, and Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital).

With a long road ahead to fight the disease of cancer, many children and families not only endure physical pain but also worry daily about material costs and expenses for treatment. Difficulties pile up, therefore the compassionate hearts of the whole society are greatly needed to join hands and contribute, so that poor cancer patients can overcome harsh fate and integrate into the community.

The Cancer Patient Support Fund – Bright Tomorrow has been carrying out many activities such as providing cancer treatment drugs for patients with a total value of 400 billion VND, screening and early detection of cancer for more than 70,000 citizens… In the campaign “One message, a million acts of love sent to cancer patients” this time, the Bright Tomorrow Fund collaborates with the National Humanitarian E‑Information Portal (Portal 1400) to organize a text‑message campaign supporting poor cancer patients on the short code 1406. Each message with the UT syntax sent to 1406 will be a loving message to the patient and an additional 15,000 VND will be transferred to programs supporting patients, poor child cancer patients.
