"Medical Profession Feeling - Touching Reality - Choosing the Future". The inspiring journey of the medical profession to students of Le Hong Phong Specialized High School

On the morning of 3/11/2025, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD) in cooperation with Le Hong Phong Specialized High School organized a forum “Medical Profession Feeling - touching reality - choosing the future”. This is an activity in the series of career guidance programs of BV ĐHYD, helping students access the reality of the medical field through interaction, sharing and direct experience with the hospital’s doctors and nurses.
Speaking at the program, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh – Deputy Director of BV ĐHYD, a former Math specialized student of Le Hong Phong Specialized High School, was moved when returning to his old school, the place that awakened in him a love for knowledge and compassion, also the source of inspiration that led him to the medical profession. According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh, the medical profession is a journey of knowledge, compassion and perseverance, requiring determination and a spirit of sacrifice to protect human life. “When you truly understand and touch the value of the medical profession, you will choose the right path for the future.”

The school representative, Ms. Phạm Thị Bé Hiền - Principal of Lê Hồng Phong Specialized High School, affirms that this is a meaningful and practical activity, helping students better understand the reality of the professions they are interested in. “We want students to hear real stories directly from the doctors and nurses of BV ĐHYD. That is the best way for them to more clearly shape the career they pursue,” she shared.

During the forum, students listened to sincere sharing from doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, who are directly practicing their professions and many of whom were also former Lê Hồng Phong students. The stories from Prof. Dr. Lê Hữu Thiện Biên - Former Head of the Intensive Care Department, Prof. Dr. Trần Nhật Thăng - Head of the Obstetrics Department and Associate Professor Dr. DS. Đặng Nguyễn Đoan Trang – Head of the Pharmacy Department, CN ĐD. Võ Thị Thanh Tuyền – Nurse Head of the Gastrointestinal Department helped students better understand the value of the medical profession, where knowledge, skills, and compassion blend together to save lives. Additionally, the basic emergency skill (CPR) experience guided by the nursing team allowed the students to “touch” reality as each chest compression and rescue breathing carries the significance of protecting life.
According to Associate Professor Trần Văn Hùng – Head of the Social Work Department, the program not only provides career guidance but also awakens love and social responsibility in each student. “When you choose a profession with your heart, you will find meaning in each day of work,” he shared.

At the close of the program, many students expressed their emotions after experiencing and chatting with medical professionals. With the spirit “Feel - Touch - Choose”, the program opened a journey of connection between schools and hospitals, helping students better understand the value of the medical profession and become more confident on their path to pursuing their dreams.
