Training & Research

The Department of Maxillofacial Surgery – Oral and Maxillofacial at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City continuously enhances professional knowledge and clinical skills by establishing training classes and workshops to share experience and disseminate knowledge. 

It organizes continuous medical training programs for physicians and specialist nursing staff in Maxillofacial Surgery – Oral and Maxillofacial. In parallel, the department also participates in and organizes seminars and conferences related to the specialty of Maxillofacial Surgery – Oral and Maxillofacial.

Participates in training and receives postgraduate trainees (residential, CKI, master's, CKII, PhD candidates), who practice a 12‑month professional certification in Maxillofacial Surgery – Oral and Maxillofacial. Not stopping there, the department strengthens the organization of specialized conferences on Oral and Maxillofacial for inpatients in the departments when needed; inter‑hospital conferences when other departments outside the hospital have needs.

Equipments

Not only does the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery – Oral and Maxillofacial at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City have a highly skilled team, it is also equipped with a modern equipment system, a spacious outpatient and inpatient facility, meeting the needs of examination and treatment. The dental treatment area and the high‑tech treatment rooms are fully equipped with advanced devices and instruments to serve routine examinations and high‑tech specialized procedures in Dentistry‑Maxillofacial. 

Preclinical: X‑ray rooms for panoramic imaging, dental full‑mouth X‑ray rooms, cephalometric/tilt measurements together with CT‑Scanner, a blood collection and laboratory testing area providing maximum and timely support, speeding up diagnosis and treatment for patients. Instrument sterilization room: Provides sterilized dental and medical instruments for examination chairs; processes cleaning of used instruments before sending them to the Infection Control Department for central sterilization. 

The inpatient ward combined with the ENT specialty, with rooms meeting international standards, accommodates patients for comprehensive and active treatment and care for cases of trauma surgery, pathology, and reconstruction of the oral‑maxillofacial region.
