Overview
The Urology Department was established on the basis of the Urology sub‑department under the General Surgery department. Each year, the Urology Department has over 30,000 outpatient visits, and to date has performed more than 15,000 surgeries, including over 12,000 minimally invasive surgeries.
The Urology Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital specializes in medical treatment and performs surgery for all urinary tract diseases in male and female patients, as well as issues related to male reproductive organs, using advanced surgical methods and care.
Equipped with a team of experienced doctors and specialists, combined with high‑technology applications, the Urology Department focuses on developing many minimally invasive endoscopic techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient treatment.

Training & Research
The Department of Urology at University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City receives and trains undergraduate and postgraduate trainees such as medical students, resident doctors (CKI, CKII), masters, and research fellows. It participates in writing articles, communication materials, training documents, teaching materials to preserve and share experience and professional knowledge with many people.

The department actively promotes scientific research and applies the results to diagnosis, treatment, training, and technology transfer in Urology and Andrology. In addition, the department participates as a principal investigator and conducts many scientific research projects at the provincial and institutional levels to develop new methods for treating urological diseases.
