2On the occasion of celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1931 – 26/3/2026), and also looking forward to the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Volunteer Youth Force of Ho Chi Minh City (28/3/1976 – 28/3/2026), on the morning of 22/3/2026, the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Youth Union of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, organized a program about the source at the historical site Rung Sac, Can Gio district.

The activity was organized to promote the tradition of remembering one's roots, to nurture revolutionary ideals, and to raise political awareness and a sense of responsibility among members and youth throughout the system.

At the historic site, the delegation solemnly held an incense offering ceremony, commemorating the heroic martyrs who bravely sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and defending the Fatherland. In the sacred space of the mangrove forest, the ritual was performed with reverence, expressing deep gratitude to the preceding generations.

The members and youth were introduced to the outstanding achievements of the Rung Sac Special Forces – a unit that left many remarkable marks during the resistance against the United States. Battles such as destroying the Victory ship, raiding Nhà Bè port, destroying strategic fuel depots, or demolishing the Thanh Tuy Ha bomb depot not only inflicted heavy losses on the enemy’s logistical system but also disrupted strategic transport routes, contributing to turning the tide of the battlefield in the southern region. Through this, the image of the special forces soldier emerges with bravery, ingenuity, and steadfast will under extremely harsh combat conditions.

The trip not only brought many emotions and reflections, but also provided an opportunity for each member to pause before the silent sacrifices, thereby gaining a clearer understanding of their responsibilities in today’s continuing journey. It is not only a source of pride, but also an awakening to the role of the younger generation in preserving and promoting the nation's historical values.

For members and youth in the medical field, the journey back to the source holds special significance. If during war the previous generations were ready to sacrifice for national independence, then in peacetime, today’s young physicians continue the mission of protecting and caring for the people's health – a form of preserving life through knowledge, medical ethics, and devoted spirit.

Returning to the source to stride confidently into the future, the youth of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City in general continue to promote a spirit of creativity, enthusiasm, continuous learning, cultivating competence and professional ethics, studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, ethics, and style, contributing to building a sustainable and developed health system for community health.
