UMC Full Moon Night 2025
Mid-Autumn gathering – Sending love
Under the golden moon of August, the campus of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD) is more lively than ever with lion drum sounds, singing, and children's smiles. On the evening of September 27, 2025, the UMC 2025 Full Moon Night Festival was held in Hall A, with the participation of over 1,000 children who are the offspring of staff and workers of the Hospital.

With the deep care of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Union and the Youth Union, the program offered a space filled with joy and laughter. From lively lion dance performances, captivating magic, Mid-Autumn drama, to colorful lantern decoration activities. All created a warm festival night, where the children could freely play, explore, and preserve sweet memories with their families. The highlight of the program was the lantern procession, when sparkling lanterns stretched throughout the hospital hall, each child's eyes lit up with excitement, and the radiant smiles of parents also blended with the joy.

Not only limited to recreational activities, the loving moonlight of the Night Festival is also brought to the wards – where pediatric patients are receiving inpatient treatment. Mid-Autumn gifts, including cute lanterns and warm teddy bears, are handed directly, serving as encouragement and sharing to help the children become stronger in overcoming illness. Especially, this year's program is accompanied by the Drama Club of Le Quy Don High School, whose students prepared 20 gifts along with handwritten letters full of love for the pediatric patients. These small lines of text, yet containing great hearts, bring joy and hope not only to the children but also to their families, spreading a spirit of compassion and connecting students, the community, and the hospital.

Speaking at the program, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh – Party Committee member, Deputy Director of the Hospital shared: “Mid-Autumn Festival is a special occasion for children to receive love and care from family and society. For the Hospital, the Full Moon Night Festival is not only joy for the children of staff and workers, but also a source of spiritual encouragement for pediatric patients, helping them gain more determination and confidence in their treatment journey.”
Sharing the same view, MSc. Dang Anh Long – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Hospital Unit Trade Union emphasized: “The trade union always regards caring for the material and spiritual lives of staff and workers as an important task. The Full Moon Night Festival not only brings joy to children but also spreads humanistic values, the spirit of sharing – which creates the distinctive character of the UMC big family.”
The joy of children is also the happiness of parents. Ms. Lam Thi Bich Chi – Department of Anorectal shared emotionally: “My child has been eager all week to participate in the Full Moon Night Festival. Every year, Mid-Autumn at UMC is not only the joy of the kids but also our pride – being able to work in an environment that always cares about families and children.” For the little ones, the joy is much simpler.
Little Nguyễn Bảo An - a staff member of ĐHYD Hospital innocently said: “What I like most is carrying lanterns with friends and receiving cute teddy bear gifts. The Mid-Autumn Festival at the Hospital is very fun, I hope to participate again next year.”
The evening event concluded under the full moon, but the echo of joy and love remains lingering. The UMC Full Moon Night 2025 not only illuminated children's smiles, but also kindled a flame of love and a spirit of unity – the humanitarian values that the Hospital always strives for on its journey “Serving patients and the community”.
