University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City and Xuyen A Hospital Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Training and Scientific Research

On June 4, 2026, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC HCMC) and Xuyen A Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in professional training and scientific research. This initiative aims to leverage the respective strengths of each institution in training high-quality medical human resources while promoting applied research to advance clinical care.

Under the agreement, UMC HCMC will host physicians, nurses, and technicians from Xuyen A Hospital for clinical practice training to refine and elevate their professional expertise. Additionally, the two institutions will collaborate on scientific research concerning multimodal treatment for colorectal cancer and other malignancies, focusing on improving treatment efficacy and patient care outcomes.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Lê Quốc Sử, General Director of the Xuyen A General Hospital System, along with hospital leadership and key clinical personnel. Representing UMC HCMC was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Khắc Bảo, Deputy Director of the Hospital, accompanied by leaders from various departments, centers, and clinical units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Khắc Bảo noted that as a university hospital affiliated with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, UMC HCMC consistently identifies training and scientific research as core missions intertwined with clinical practice. He emphasized that strengthening partnerships with fellow healthcare facilities helps disseminate knowledge, share practical experience, and drive high-impact applied research, ultimately elevating the quality of medical human resources and patient care standards.
Representing Xuyen A Hospital, Dr. Lê Quốc Sử stated that the MoU creates valuable opportunities for the hospital's medical team to access advanced clinical training environments and update their knowledge and techniques. He expressed confidence that the insights and outcomes generated through this partnership will empower the institution to continuously enhance its clinical quality and better meet the healthcare needs of the community.
Moving forward, the two organizations will develop concrete implementation plans based on practical demands while advancing joint research initiatives in oncology and related specialties. This collaboration is expected to serve as a foundation for expanding long-term professional, academic, and research partnerships in the phases ahead.
