On the morning of February 22, 2025, at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (BV ĐHYD), each drop of blood was given away like lifelines spreading love. More than just a humanitarian blood donation program, this is a journey of compassion, where 120 staff members and workers joined hands to help save patients in need of blood. 132 units of blood were received – each blood bag not only contains red cells but also represents sharing, hope, and an opportunity for someone to continue their life.
Standing amid the bustling atmosphere of the program, the eyes of the Youth Union member Võ Trương Phương Đức – Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department, Member of the Hospital Youth Union Executive Committee, shone with pride: “As a youth union member of BV ĐHYD, I feel honored to accompany the voluntary blood donation program. Witnessing the heartfelt willingness to share precious drops of blood to save lives, I deeply appreciate the humanitarian significance of this activity. Although the supporting work can be somewhat tiring, the moment I see each blood bag being received, the light smiles of the donors make me forget all fatigue. This is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity to spread love, to see that, right within this very embrace, we
We are together preserving someone's life. I hope more and more people will participate in blood donation, because ‘Every drop of blood given – A life remains’.”
The bright red blood bags continue to be transfused, bringing hope to the waiting patients. A donor may not know who will receive their blood, but they understand that somewhere, a heart will keep beating, a patient has an extra chance to live.
With the slogan “One drop of blood given – One life remains”, the program not only provides a valuable blood supply but also serves as a reminder of humanity, of the power of sharing. BV ĐHYD continues to write a story of love and responsibility, leaving beautiful marks in the journey of accompanying human health and life.
