University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City and Pfizer Vietnam sign strategic cooperation agreement to enhance healthcare quality

On August 14, 2025, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) and Pfizer Vietnam signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening medical capacity and improving the quality of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. The agreement marks an important step forward for both parties in reinforcing professional capabilities and expanding connections with expert networks to better meet the practical needs of the healthcare system in southern Vietnam and neighboring provinces.

The cooperation focuses on four key areas: organizing scientific conferences on antimicrobial and antifungal stewardship, clinical microbiology, diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of patients with cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and cancer; raising healthcare professionals’ awareness of disease burden and providing training on infectious disease prevention through vaccination and safe immunization practices; conducting health education and communication programs to improve public awareness of preventable infectious diseases and chronic non-communicable diseases; and strengthening the knowledge and professional capacity of pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and health economics teams through antimicrobial stewardship programs, updates on medication safety and adverse drug reactions (ADRs), health technology assessment (HTA), and aseptic preparation of chemotherapy medications.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Le Khac Bao, PhD, MD – Deputy Director of UMC, stated:
