University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City signs strategic cooperation agreement with Fujifilm Healthcare

On the afternoon of July 18, 2025, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City (UMC) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Fujifilm Healthcare Asia Pacific and Fujifilm Vietnam Co., Ltd. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening strategic cooperation between the parties, with the aim of advancing medical education, scientific research, and the application of modern imaging technologies in medical examination and treatment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Le Khac Bao, PhD, MD – Deputy Director of UMC, emphasized the importance of this partnership not only in terms of professional development but also in its value to the community. He expressed his expectation that Fujifilm’s support would contribute to enhancing the Hospital’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities, as well as its digital transformation efforts.

Representing Fujifilm Vietnam, Mr. Mamoru Morota – General Director of Fujifilm Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared his appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside UMC in medical training and patient awareness initiatives. He also highlighted Fujifilm’s ambition to develop a comprehensive healthcare model not only in Vietnam but also on a broader global scale.

As part of the ceremony, Mr. Noriyuki Kawakubo – Managing Director of Fujifilm Healthcare Asia Pacific introduced the cooperation plan to establish the UMC-FAHLA Training Center (FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Healthcare Learning Academy). The center is expected to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, contributing to the restructuring of healthcare service delivery and strengthening the professional capacity of healthcare professionals across the region.

The event not only reaffirmed UMC’s commitment to international professional cooperation, but also opened up new opportunities to develop a comprehensive training – technology – knowledge transfer ecosystem, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of healthcare for the community.
