Vietnam-Cuba Friendship: Staff and workers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital ready to join hands

Over the past 65 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba has become a rare symbol in the history of international relations, nurtured by blood, sweat, and the shared heartfelt affection between the two peoples. From the sacred oath “For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to sacrifice its own blood” of leader Fidel Castro, to the projects, medical teams, and vaccines that Cuba has provided to Vietnam, this friendship has always been cherished and preserved by the peoples of both nations.

Building on that tradition, the staff and workers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (BV ĐHYD) are always ready to join hands with their heartfelt commitment to support and share with the people of Cuba during the current difficult period. These actions are not only material assistance but also carry deep affection and gratitude toward a country that has stood shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Vietnam in its most challenging moments.

From the early days of its establishment, BV ĐHYD has deeply embraced a humanitarian spirit, viewing healthcare and sharing for the community as a noble mission. Therefore, when there was a call to join together in support of the Cuban people, the hospital staff and workers quickly responded. This is evidence of international solidarity, affirming that humanitarian values will always be spread and connected among nations.

Ms. Đặng Anh Long - Chairperson of the Hospital Department Union shared: “We always deeply appreciate and are grateful for the sincere friendship and precious assistance that the Cuban people have given to Vietnam during the most difficult moments in history. Today, every contribution, however small, from the hospital staff and workers is a continuation of that iron bond, reflecting our solidarity, humanity, and responsibility toward our international friends.” 

Representing the younger generation, Dr. Phạm Hồng Tuấn Nam - Secretary of the Hospital Youth Union Executive Committee expressed: "We are extremely proud to join hands with the Hospital team in reaching out to Cuba. Each contribution not only reflects the social responsibility of the young staff of BV ĐHYD, but also sincere affection, a desire to share hardships with the Cuban people, continuing the tradition of solidarity cultivated by previous generations."
