Scientific research is one of the three core missions of the Hospital, contributing to maintaining and improving the quality of both medical education and patient care. Research activities are strongly emphasized by the Hospital's Board of Directors and are considered an obligatory responsibility of all healthcare professionals working at the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Hospital provides financial support policies for staff participating in scientific research activities, aiming to encourage innovation, strengthen research capacity, and continuously enhance expertise.
