Recruitment for the 12-Month Practice Program to obtain a medical practice license for the title of medical doctor

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital announces recruitment for the “12-Month Practice Program to obtain a medical practice license for the title of medical doctor” as follows:

Target applicants: Medical doctors who wish to obtain a medical practice license for the title of Doctor within the scope of medical practice (as stipulated in point a, Clause 1, Article 8 of Decree 96/2023/ND-CP dated 30/12/2023 of the Government detailing certain provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment).

Time:

• Batch 1: 13/03/2025 – 13/03/2026 (Registration quota filled)
• Batch 2: 13/06/2025 – 13/06/2026 (Registration quota filled)
• Batch 3: 13/09/2025 – 13/09/2026 (Registration quota filled)
• Batch 4: 13/12/2025 – 13/12/2026 (Registration quota filled)

Location: Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital – 215 Hong Bang, Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City

Number of recruits: 30 practitioners per batch

Practice content:

• Practitioners will be apprenticed and practice the techniques stipulated in Appendix V – List of specialized medical examination and treatment techniques for practitioners holding the title of doctor within the scope of medical practice (issued together with Circular No. 32/2023/TT-BYT dated 31/12/2023 of the Minister of Health) under the direct supervision of a practice instructor.
• Practitioners will participate in all activities related to the unit's medical examination and treatment work, professional meetings (hospital-wide and unit-level), specialty presentations, scientific activities, case presentations, specialized conferences/seminars… organized by the Hospital and/or the Unit;
• In addition to practicing specialized medical examination and treatment techniques, trainees will attend the following training sessions (each topic taught for 2–4 periods):
  + Legal regulations on medical examination and treatment
  + Professional regulations and ethical conduct
  + Patient safety
  + Communication and interpersonal skills for medical practitioners
  + Basic infection control
  + Use of electronic medical records and information security regulations

Practice organization:

• Trainees rotate among the Units;
• At each Unit, trainees participate in practice and on-call duties as per Hospital regulations;
• Trainees must not be absent for more than 10% of the total practice time;
• If a trainee must suspend practice due to health reasons or other force majeure, they may pause practice for up to 12 months and retain previous practice results;
• The trainees' practice schedule will be arranged by the Department of Science and Training to allocate an appropriate number of trainees to the Units simultaneously;
• To ensure that supervisors for emergency resuscitation meet the conditions stipulated in Clause 3, Article 7 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated 30/12/2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital will receive and allocate the maximum number of trainees registering for practice in the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit as follows:
  + Emergency Department: 10 trainees per batch
  + Intensive Care Unit: 20 trainees per batch
  * The priority order for practice in the Emergency Department is determined by the registration time. If the number of registrations exceeds the above quota, trainees will be arranged to practice in the Intensive Care Unit.

Note:

• From the date Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital issues a value-added tax invoice to practitioners, reimbursement of practice fees will only apply for cases requesting suspension of practice due to force majeure;
• Terminate the practice contract if a practitioner unilaterally suspends practice for more than 3 days without written notice to the Hospital;
• After completing the practice period and meeting the requirements for professional competence and occupational ethics, the practitioner will be issued a Certificate of Completion of the practice process by Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital;

• Practitioners are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses during the practice period at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital./.
